Halco VersaConnect 8ft LED T8: One Lamp, Five Colors, Less Breakage

πŸ“… July 2026  Β·  Product Spotlight

Eight-foot fluorescent replacements are useful. Nobody loves handling them.

They're long. Fragile. Difficult to store. Easy to damage before they ever make it to the fixture. Halco's VersaConnect 8ft LED T8 was designed to make that process easier. It ships as two 4-foot LED sections that connect into one 96-inch lamp.

Five color temperatures. Multiple base options. One SKU.

The 8-foot headache, solved

Traditional 8-foot lamps are awkward. They don't fit in standard vans without angling. They break in transit. They're a pain to stock. And if you've ever wrestled one into a fixture by yourself, you know the struggle.

VersaConnect ships as two 48-inch sections. They connect together to form one 96-inch T8 lamp.

Same final result. Way less handling drama.

Five color temps. One SKU.

This lamp gives you five selectable color temperatures:

  • 3000K

  • 3500K

  • 4000K

  • 5000K

  • 6500K

That means one product covers warm, neutral, cool white, and daylight applications. Fewer SKUs to stock. Less guessing on the job site. Set it in the field and move on.

Halco positions the VersaConnect as a "30-in-1" product because it combines five color temperatures with multiple base options in one lamp family.

Three base options. Less jobsite guessing.

The VersaConnect 8ft LED T8 supports the base styles contractors commonly run into on 8-foot lamp retrofits:

  • Medium bi-pin

  • Single pin / FA8

  • Recessed double contact / R17D

FA8 and R17D end caps come in the box. That matters when you're dealing with older fixtures, mixed fixture types, or retrofit work where the lamp holder situation is not always obvious until you open things up.

Type B ballast bypass β€” the right way

This is a Type B lamp. That means it is designed for direct-wire applications. The existing ballast must be bypassed or removed according to the installation instructions.

It runs on 120-277V and uses double-ended wiring.

⚠️ If you're not familiar with Type B retrofits: Proper wiring matters. Follow the instructions. Confirm power is off. If you're not qualified, call someone who is.

What it replaces

Halco designed this lamp to replace 8-foot T8 Type B lamps, including glass-coated and PET-coated versions, in commercial and industrial applications.

That makes it a practical option for retrofit work in warehouses, manufacturing spaces, back-of-house commercial areas, food-processing facilities, signage, and utility-style 8-foot lamp applications.

Anti-sag clip included

One thing contractors appreciate: the anti-rotating clip.

It installs at the midpoint to help prevent sagging, drooping, or rotation over time.

Small detail. Big difference in a warehouse ceiling.

Dimming? Only with the right module.

The product information needs a careful read here.

The spec sheet lists the lamp as dimmable, but Halco's product page clarifies: "No. »»» Yes, only with dimming driver."

So the safe answer is this:

Do not treat this as a standard dimmable lamp unless the correct dimming module or driver is part of the setup.

If you need dimming, check the installation requirements first and make sure the proper dimming accessory is included.

Applications

This lamp is built for:

  • Warehouses

  • Manufacturing facilities

  • Commercial buildings

  • Signage

  • Food processing

  • Industrial spaces

  • Utility-style 8-foot replacements
